Crazy

Crazy is the word to define my family; not mentally-challenged of course. Crazy in a fun and sporting way.

My sisters & I each got ourselves a Nintendo DS Lite. It's my birthday present. Feel like a kid again. We succumbed to the pressure from my cousins but it's all good as we can have more bonding time. First day of Raya, my maternal side came over for dinner as Dad organized and cooked. After dinner was "Race Time". All 6 consoles linked up using WiFi to race in Mario Kart and then Cooking Mama. Towards the end of the day, we had a lil chat about going up to Genting for a cup of Starbucks. The lil chat became more serious and soon you see everyone running around the house getting change, grabbing our sweater and dashed out of the house. A convoy of 3 cars went up to Genting and had a cup of Starbucks. Talk about spontaneous and impromptu.

Darling & I managed to go into the Casino for some eye-opener. Really did open up my eyes to see how silly all these people can be to gamble their life-savings and they looked hopeless. Just sitting down at the table or slot machine thinking that luck will fall on their side one fine day and will strike jackpot and be an instant millionaire. Really sympathise them.

After chilling out a bit, we convoyed back down to PJ and reached home at 4am. That's just crazy! Another crazy thing is that now instead of 6 consoles, we have 2 new additions to the DS Lite family. It was a surprise gift from my Uncle to his girlfriend and my aunty. Yay, we can now race with 8 players. That's really cool !

I miss her. We can't seem to catch each other online. I miss all the things that we've done during the holidays. But time is passing by real fast, which is good in a way because I'll get to see her real soon. Oh Elyssa is one smart girl. I showed her Soo Jin's picture and told her that this is Soo Jin Che Che. She is Ah Girl Che Che's best friend. (My family calls me Ah Girl from young, so now all my lil cousins call me that too) Today, Elyssa was in my room and randomly I asked her who is that pointing at Soo Jin's picture. To my surprise, she still remember her. So cute and brilliant !

Ok, no more holiday for me. Go to bed Deniece Loong!

Happy Birthday :)

A belated birthday shoutout to my "twin-of-3-years-apart" sister
&
my 7-years-and-counting bestfriend :) :)

28 September 2008
Struck midnight, I opened 2 presents. One from my boy - a sling bag from Dorothy Perkins and another from my bestfriend. She gave me on the day she left and insisted that I only open it on my birthday and vice-versa for her. She got me a beautiful cross pendant. I got her a Cross pen. Oh we got each other some form of crosses ;) Anyway, celebrated our birthday at Tamarind Springs for lunch. A little different from our normal celebrations which is usually dinners but because this year it's Singapore's first ever night race for F1, Dad wouldn't want to miss this once in a lifetime experience, so we changed it to lunch instead. I'm amazed at my directional skills. After so long, I still manage to direct them there although we missed one turn.

The ambience is nicer in the morning as you can clearly see the surrounding but it's more romantic and cosy at night with the candles all litted up. Food were great, something different from our usual meal. You get a wide range of Indo-chinese taste food. Delicious. After lunch, we proceeded to get our birthday gifts - DS Lite :) :) It's so addictive and it's real fun :) Hehe

Oh, this post is supposed to be dedicated to them. Ooppss.

Happy 20th Birthday Sister!
I love you lots, Sister. Although sometimes your blurness is just so overwhelming. Sometimes you can be very dong in your actions but you amazes people with your academic results. Despite all these, you're very precious to me. *Awww* Your character is such that will bring joy, love and happiness to the people around you. Always know that we love you and we'll always support you in everything that you do. Thanks for being my sister :) I pray that God will show His direction in your life and that He'll guide your paths. I love you :)

29th September 2008

Happy 22nd Birthday BestFriend!
I love you so much! I wish we could celebrate our birthdays together. I know the time will come very soon! You're a jewel in my heart. You shine among the rest. I've seen you mature so much over the years and you're getting more beautiful each day. I wish you had a blast on your birthday and we'll meet real soon! Thanks for being such an awesome friend, a friend that knows my heart :) I pray that God will continue to see you through in everything that you pursue and that His light will continue to shine brightly in your life. I love you :)

Finallllyyyy

Xanga has been quite a pain! For whatever reason, I can't log into Xanga at home. Pfft, stupid connection. I'm grabbing the opportunity to blog a bit during office hours ;p

Last Friday was College/Campus Retreat and the theme is Victory*08! It's held in Le Paris Resort, Port Dickson. We drove down because Chitra was in our car. The retreat is a very relaxing one with minimal games and of course the sessions were awesome! Before the retreat, I told God I want to have a refreshed, renewed and a restored relationship with Him. I know I've drifted far apart from Him and I'm coming back to His arms once again. I shared my roomies during morning devotion that I want to restore my relationship with Him. The amazing thing was during altar call, I responded. Knelt down before His presence and Ps. Julie laid her hands on me. The first word that came out from her mouth was - RESTORATION! She said God is giving me a new engine and will restore back what I've lost. God is so good and I just couldn't contain it anymore. I cried a lot during the whole retreat. Just felt His goodness upon my life and He has been great to me.

Apart from these, this retreat has definitely bonded the cell better. We try to eat together, gather for games after sessions and during the last night, we stayed up till about 2am sitting by the poolside talking. A few of them even went for a dip. I would have join them but wasn't convenient that time ;)

Thank God that Wednesday was a public holiday. I got to catch up with 2 of my close friends - Selina Chew Yuet Ling & Lim Syn Yin!! Since it's holiday, we decided to go for breakfast and spend the rest of the day together. Went to Village Park for Nasi Lemak - the nasi lemak ayam goreng is superb!!! ahhh I'm feeling hungry now ;P We were there until 11-ish. It's so good to catch up with them again as it's pretty hard for everyone's timing to coincide. Syn Yin is in Singapore, Selina is in Indonesia and Eunice is in Australia. Sigh, everyone is everywhere.

Anyway, after breakfast we went to One Utama for bowling :) :) Syn Yin is just so cute! You gotta see her bowl ;P I have it on video *ngek ngek* Oh Syn Yin got the offer from Science Centre, Singapore. She's going to be a teacher teaching small kids ;P hahaha how interesting. 3 games of bowling and went to Chocolat for a drink and see pictures from Selina's kampung escapade. Selina was staying in the kampung deep inside Indon for 7 weeks as part of her studies. They need to check the health level of the villagers and give medication etc. She stays in the wooden house that's on stilts, play with the chickens and ducks. Bathe in milky murky water. But the surrounding is so peaceful and serene. It was a good experience for her.

I'm pretty excited for this weekend as my family planned a trip to Port Dickson (yes, PD again) with my extended family!! It's quite unusual that we have all these family trips but it's a good start! I'm really looking forward to it. We'll have steamboat and BBQ there. Can go swimming, fly kite and etc etc. I think apart from all these, the bonding among family members is the most important. I think we should have more of these! :)

The other day Darling & I were discussing about our current financial status. We're still on track towards our goal and we've decided that we will set our goals higher. We're planning to attend Soo Jin's graduation in Moscow in 3 years time and we need to start saving from now. We're planning to save a little bit more and we can go for a Europe tour as well ;) hehe that would be a great one! So must start now! NO more unnecessary shopping, buying, purchasing! Ok, better get back to work before my boss spanks me :P

Memorable Holiday

Warning : This post is really long and it's overloaded with pictures! If you have no patience, please click X to cancel this page ;)

It has been a truly memorable summer this year. The bestfriend came back beginning of July and we have shared so many memorable memories. We went for our very first trip to Singapore. Shopped, walked, and took plenty of pictures. This summer we have a great time indulging in good food - buffet at Shangri-la & One World, dim sum at JW Marriott, nasi lemak at Village Park, TGIF, Paddington and many more. Also, had a road trip to Melaka, it was quite impromptu but it's definitely one trip that we can  never forget.

Buffet at Shangri-la was with the boyfriend & the bestfriend (both my bfs). It was such an enjoyable one as we didn't waste any time. We reached there on the dot at 12pm, the waitress showed our table and off we go for the first round and we ate until 2.30pm.

That's us, enjoying ourselves at Shangri-la ;)

Next up, would
be our impromptu Melaka trip.
There was an 'accident' that happened to one of us in the process of posing for the camera. Will highlight later. Meanwhile, enjoy the pictures first :)

The 'accident' took place after this last picture.
Oh before that, a big thank you to Mr. Tri-pod in helping us to tak
e all these wonderful shots :)
Really had a great time posing and these are just 10% of the total shots.
Haha, when you put 2 or more girls together, this is what you'
ll get :p

The 'accident' happened when I jumped off from where I was, my left foot
landed on the ground but somehow my right foot was a bit off balance and I 'flew' in front (according to Soo Jin) and was flat on the ground. The first thing I realised was my front tooth chipped!!!
Soo Jin rushed to my aid and was shocked when I showed her
my tooth. It was quite a deep chipped as it reaches my nerves. Soo Jin said her heart stopped for a moment and was expecting the worst. Thank God, I only chipped my tooth and hurt my palms a little bit. There wasn't a single drop of blood. It's really God's protection because the texture of the ground is really rough and uneven. Oh, we couldn't find my tooth on the ground. Oh well, at least I can say I've left some part of me on this historical ground. We quickly left the place and Soo Jin said we should go back to KL asap, BUT we came all the way here and it was just the beginning of the trip. We did stay for a little while more, since there's nothing much I could do but I must becareful when I take pictures and I didn't talk much in public!
 Hahaha what an e
xperience!

The over-rated Famosa Chicken Rice Ball which is not too delicious after all.

Menara Taming Sari is an observation tower that was built a few months back but with the lack of advertising & exposure, not many Malaysians knew about this. You sit inside the carousel and as it rotate upwards, you'll be able to view the entire Malacca's view - the city, the Straits of Malacca & the Malacca river. Quite an experience but it would be one time only. It's RM 10 for Malaysian adults per ride.

We reached back to KL around 5pm and we headed to my dentist to fix my tooth. Showed my dentist my tooth and he can help me to fix it back but got to wait for an hour. We went to the Starbucks nearby and after many many attempts, finally we got the shot below.

Truly a memorable one. Thank God for His protection!

It has been our tradition to celebrate our birthdays 1 month earlier ever since she left to Russia as she won't be here on the actual date. This year was a surprise and a treat from her. She picked me up and off we go to One World Hotel for the dinner buffet at Cinnamon. Personally, I would opt for One World ove
r Shangri-la, after trying both. One World is newer, the ambience is more condusive and cosier, most importantly, their food taste better.

I thank God for all these memories and time spent with her. 2 months came and gone. She's leaving us in 15 hours back to Moscow for her 4th year medicine. I'm so used to having her around these 2 months that it really hit me hard last night. I can only comfort myself by thinking the sooner she goes back, the sooner she'll graduate and back for good. There's a season for everything. It's just part and parcel of life. We'll send her off later. Hopefully can go out with her again tonight! :) I love you, Soo Jin :)
